Early Detection, Expert Eyes: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when communities across Central Kentucky come together to support those affected by breast cancer and to remind one another that early detection matters.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, aside from skin cancer. The encouraging news is that when it is found early, treatment is often more effective and outcomes are better. That is why awareness, and action, matter so much.
The Experts Behind Your Images
When you have an imaging exam, there is a team of specialists working behind the scenes to make sure every detail is seen. At Central Kentucky Radiology, our board-certified radiologists carefully review each study and work closely with your physician to help guide the next steps in your care.
Whether a patient is coming in for a routine exam or for follow-up during or after treatment, our goal is the same: clear answers, delivered with care, so patients and their doctors can make confident decisions.
Simple Steps That Make a Difference
- Know your recommended screening schedule. Talk with your doctor about when to begin mammograms and how often to have them based on your personal and family history.
- Don’t put it off. Busy schedules make it easy to delay a screening. Booking your appointment this month is one of the best things you can do for your health.
- Pay attention to changes. A new lump, swelling, skin dimpling, or changes in the nipple are worth mentioning to your doctor right away.
- Share the reminder. Encourage the women you love to schedule their screenings too. One conversation can make a real difference.
Supporting Our Community
Behind every statistic is a person: a mother, daughter, sister, friend, or neighbor. To every patient currently in treatment, every survivor, and every family and caregiver walking alongside them, we honor your strength and resilience.
Central Kentucky Radiology is proud to serve our community with expertise and compassion, this October and throughout the year.
With gratitude,
The Central Kentucky Radiology Team
